Before the summer holidays, Mrs Mullen  organised and led an art trip to the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery. Whilst on the trip she discovered some exciting news: later in the year, the gallery would host a special exhibition to mark its centenary. Appropriately titled Beautiful Things, the exhibition invited submissions from anyone living, working, or studying in Stockport.

Inspired by this opportunity, the art department encouraged pupils to create pieces that celebrated Stockport. What followed was beyond our expectations—an incredible outpouring of imagination and talent. From bold interpretations of local landmarks to thoughtful reflections on community life, our pupils produced a stunning variety of work.

In the end, we proudly submitted more than 20 artworks to the exhibition. This is a remarkable achievement, and it has been wonderful to hear how proud you all feel seeing your creations displayed for the public to enjoy.

Here are the artworks, freshly delivered to the gallery—ready to take their place in Beautiful Things.

A few weeks ago, completely out of the blue, Mrs Mullen received a wonderful message from the Museum's Officer: the Leader of the Council, Mark Roberts. He had selected a design created by one of our very own Year 10 pupils to feature on his official Christmas card. We were absolutely thrilled by this news!

This week, Councillor Roberts visited us in person to meet and congratulate the pupil. He even presented one of the beautifully printed cards, making the occasion extra special.

This achievement is not only a celebration for the pupil involved but also for all of our talented pupils whose work is currently on display in the gallery. We are so proud of each and every one of you.

Christmas Crowns!

This year, we swapped the traditional Christmas dinner crackers for something a little more imaginative—crown templates. Pupils have been invited to design and decorate their own, adding a personal touch to the festivities.

As you can see, Oliver is putting in fantastic effort on his crown, and we can’t wait to admire all the finished designs. What a wonderful way to celebrate creativity alongside Christmas cheer!

And Finally...

A MASSIVE thank you to our friends and local businesses who have shown great generosity in their prize donations and to my wonderful staff who have shown  dedication to our pupils by giving up their personal time.

Make sure you come and join us at the event of the year. With so many sensational present stalls and prizes to be won, it promises to be our best Christmas Fayre yet. We can't wait to see you all there!

Christmas Fayre Saturday 6th December 10:00am-12:00pm

Have a great weekend!
