Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 28/03/25

In a recent training session, we were asked to consider what were the main things that could cause economic disruption and concern in the future. I am sure you can appreciate the reasons why climate change was in the top five. Therefore, I am pleased that our pupils are encouraged through curriculum focused visits such as these to consider the importance of reducing waste.

Going Green!

The year 10 ASDAN pupils visited The Renew Hub in Trafford Park. They saw how items, that would normally be thrown out, are repaired and sold with the proceeds going to local good causes. They learned about the impact on the environment and the different skilled jobs there are in the waste management industry.

Further to this, I am very proud of Liam Williamson in 7H who has given up his own time outside of school to show care for his community by working in a team to pick up the rubbish and clean up the green spaces for others to enjoy. What an absolute star!

Money Management!

Hub H's topic for life skills this term is ‘money’. Hub H went to the local hair salon last week and a trip to the local drive-thru this week!

Eid Mubarak!

During the Islamic month of Ramadan, pupils have had the opportunity to find out about more about the 5 pillars of Islam, including fasting and the daily experience of a Muslim during Ramadan. Thank you to Mr Ullah for leading two fascinating lunchtime clubs.

Autism Awareness Month

April is National Autism Awareness month. Over the course of April, our whole school community will be taking part in a range of activities to develop an understanding of what Autism is and promote an acceptance around this condition.

Activities will include assemblies, form time activities and much more!

On Friday 4th April, pupils will be dressing in non-uniform and are being encouraged to dress in a 'spectrum of colour'. The brighter and bolder the clothes, the better!
