Covid

We've had quite a few cases of Covid amongst students and staff this week. Please continue to test your child twice weekly. If there is a positive case at home we suggest testing your child every morning before school.

Mock GCSE exams

Some Year 11 students have their mock GCSE exams next week and it's great to see how seriously they are taking their studies at the moment. Most of Mrs Priestley's maths group stayed for a mammoth 2-hour revision session after school on Wednesday, which shows real determination and resilience.

Lost Property

We're struggling to reunite several items of lost clothing with their owners. If you recognise any of the items below please contact your child's form teacher. Labelling coats, jackets and sweatshirts with your child's name really helps when items are lost and found.

Message from Stockport Council

We've been asked by the Local Authority to pass on a couple of messages to parents and carers:

Holiday Support Vouchers

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, then vouchers and additional support are available for the half-term and Easter holidays. Further details can be found here: Holiday Vouchers

Social Media

We want to remind parents that posting or sharing derogatory comments  about other people can be  abusive, defamatory, bullying and cause serious harm to a person’s reputation. They may also constitute a criminal offence and/or lead to civil proceedings being taken by the school or Local Authority.

Adults, children and young people can put themselves and others at risk when they:

  • Upload inappropriate, offensive or even illegal content to their own online spaces;
  • Post or share material that could damage their reputation or the reputation of others;
  • Post or share inappropriate comments on other people’s profiles that are humiliating or results in bullying.

Where incidents are brought to our attention, we will seek advice from the Local Authority. We may also refer matters to the police.  We need to set the best example for our children, so we urge everyone to think before you type/post/share and the potentially severe consequences for themselves and others.

Please be reassured that this message has not been prompted by any instances of misuse of social media related to Castle Hill.

Have a great weekend!
