Parent group

The first meeting of our re-launched Parent Group will take place on Wednesday 1st December, from 1.15-2.30pm. This meeting will primarily be an opportunity to get to know other parents and carers and decide the focus for future meetings. If you’ve not signed up yet, but would like to attend, please let Mrs Johnston know: pauline.johnston@castlehill.stockport.sch.uk.

Food Bank collection

As part of their ASDAN course, a group of our Year 11 students are collecting items to donate to Hazel Grove Food Bank. If you can help please send items into school by 14th December. Full details are given in the poster below:

Parking

We’ve been asked by local residents to remind any parents or carers who park on The Fairway or Dovedale Road to do so considerately. Specifically, please:

  • Avoid parking across dropped kerbs or driveways
  • Don't park on footpaths
  • Abide by the restriction signs and don’t park on double yellow lines or single yellow lines at restricted times.

We are keen to maintain a good relationship with local residents and your cooperation with this is very much appreciated. We had been promised that during the Lisburne School construction, additional car parking would be created on the old tennis courts opposite the Curzon Building,  but unfortunately there’s no sign of this yet.

Rail safety

Due to the high level of trespassing on the tracks by young people in the local area, Network Rail in partnership with Learn Live are working to help raise young people’s awareness of the dangers of the train tracks. They’ve prepared a safety video which they are encouraging you to watch with your child. The video lasts about 15 minutes and can be accessed by clicking on the links below:

When you click on the links you’ll be asked to register, but rather than doing this just type the email address  railsafety@learnliveuk.com into the ‘I am registered’ box.

Mr T’s target

Our assembly this week was on the theme of owning up to our mistakes and admitting when we’re in the wrong. So sticking with that theme our target this week is: Own up when you've done something wrong.

Twitter

If you haven’t seen it already, you need to click on the link below to watch a superb video of one of our Year 9 students playing a Stockport County fan song on the electronic bagpipes (accompanied by the ever-tuneful Mr Whitwell).
