Well we made it to Friday without melting...just! The pupils have been amazing and have shown great resilience despite the punishing temperatures. As always I am extremely proud of them.
Staff Inset Day
Some of you might be curious as to what we have been doing during our Inset day today so I thought I would share some insights...
Staff spent the morning exploring the new Ofsted framework, focusing on its strengthened emphasis on inclusion, belonging, and meeting the needs of all pupils. Colleagues reflected on how they create supportive, ambitious learning environments and how they celebrate the full range of pupil progress.
Teams then worked in groups to share inclusive teaching strategies, including communication‑friendly approaches, sensory awareness, adaptive teaching, and ensuring representation across curriculum materials.
Subject leaders finished the session by preparing governor presentations showing how inclusion and diversity are embedded within each subject area. These will highlight how barriers are removed, how pupils are supported to participate fully, and how belonging is promoted across the curriculum.
Our training day reinforced our commitment to ensuring every learner is valued, supported, and celebrated.
Year 11 Prom
It's glamorous, it's glitzy, it's pulsing with excitement-the grand finale for Year 11! Pupils and staff danced the night away and enjoyed every magical moment . A huge thank you must be given to Miss Atherton for organising it and to all the other brilliant key stage 4 staff who pitched in!

And Finally...
On Wednesday, I quietly suggested to Mr Hadley it might be nice to have some water play and fun to reward the pupils after coping with lessons all week. By sundown he had created a full military operation style plan! This included staffing, equipment sourced, risk assessment and a pupil friendly PowerPoint explaining the event to pupils in their form time. The pupils genuinely had the time of their lives with not one issue of poor behaviour. I am certain they will remember it for many years to come! A massive thank you to Mr Hadley for his brilliant organisation skills and to him and Mr Adie for participating in water play all day long ensuring all our pupils had a blast!
