Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 23/05/25

We have managed to cram an awful lot into the shortest half-term in history- here's a flavour of some of the highlights!

Good News All Round

Year 7 pupils welcomed 'Good News for Everyone' into school and were presented with a New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs from the Bible. The pupils listened carefully to a Bible presentation and asked some fantastic questions.

Mexican Fiesta!

9S had a splendid time sporting sombreros and dancing to the thrum of salsa songs. This was part of their Mexican fiesta to experience some Mexican culture linked to their English topic: Disney's Coco!

Plant Pot Painting

The year 10s have almost completed all of the units they need for the Bronze Award in Personal Development! Here are some of the pupils completing work towards their final unit 'My Environment' where the pupils have to improve the look of a garden.

Walliams on the Web!

Mrs. Dean’s English class took part in a live Zoom webinar with children’s author David Walliams this Thursday. He read extracts from some of his books, explained his creative process and the inspiration for some of his characters, and we learned all about how we could create exciting, original stories ourselves. He even answered some questions from Castle Hill pupils! We now know his favourite flavour of crisps is salt and vinegar, he doesn’t like clowns, and he isn’t very interested in football.

Alton Towers Adventures

The Year 9s were definitely 'living their best lives' enjoying the fabulous weather and fun with their friends on their social skills residential. A massive thank you to the staff who organised this epic visit and those who cared for the pupils during this invaluable experience.

Immunisation:  an offer to secondary age students during half term.

Intrahealth are holding some catch-up clinics (appointment only) over the May half term for the Secondary School pupils.  If anyone would like to book in, they can call their office on 0333 358 3397 option 1 then option 6.  I would be grateful if you could publicise these to your families.
