Castle Hill Blog 22/11/24
As everyone knows, in England, we love to talk about the weather and this week has been no exception. Ice, snow and rain have made the last couple of days particularly challenging. I would like to give a special mention to all my staff who have braved the elements to grit all the pathways and manage the traffic so that everyone can access the site safely. Thank you to all the parents and carers who showed patience, support and understanding when difficult decisions had to be made in relation to school opening today.
Road Safety Reminder
Please can you remind your child that when they are travelling to and from school that they must stay on the pavements. If they have to cross the road they must do so in a place that they can see clearly if there is any oncoming traffic-ideally use a crossing. We have had reports of children weaving on and off pavements and stepping out in front of cars. Therefore I would urge you to explain to your child how dangerous this is. We will also cover road safety again in assembly in the coming weeks.
Cool Campers!
Pupils can't always access our school trips and residentials for a variety of reasons which is why this lovely bunch of pupils were so excited to be taking part in the Castle Hill camping experience. Which very sensibly means that they camp in a tent inside. However, it wouldn't be a camp out experience without a roaring fire and marshmallow toasting in the forest school area! Thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to make this fantastic event happen for our young people.
Winner!
Anthony Luleciler has won the 'Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award' for volunteering each week at the 'Autisk' charity. We think that he thoroughly deserves this praise, well done Anthony, we are very proud of you!

And Finally...
Our fantastic forest school leader, Mr Hadley, has been working his magic again to inspire pupils to create this beautiful memorial garden to commemorate members of our Castle Hill community who have sadly died. My sincere thanks to all the pupils who have contributed to the making of this special place of reflection.
