Castle Hill Blog 19/06/2026
Hello and welcome to another Friday afternoon! I cannot believe how quickly it has flown by and I have so much news I want to share with you.
This week's assemblies were extremely thought provoking. KS3 received a talk to raise awareness of young carers and all that they do to help look after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug/alcohol problem, often taking on tasks such as cooking, cleaning, physical care, emotional support, or helping siblings. This is on top of trying to gain an education themselves.
KS4's assembly was related to asylum seekers and how as a school community we should try to be more aware of the support we could offer. A member of our pupil support team advocated for the Sam's Legacy charity of which he is a founder and member. He talked about the positive work the charity has done since it has been established. It was a stark reminder to us all that the most important thing we need to remember is to be kind to one another as we often have no idea what others are going through. The pupils listened intently and engaged well in both assemblies.
Star Work!
Look at this fabulous piece of creative work completed by one of our Year 8 pupils. I was very impressed with the use of imaginative vocabulary and beautiful handwriting.

Teacher of the Year!
I am so grateful for all you have done since Roxy’s passing.
Your support has meant so much to me, from delivering a wonderful and warm eulogy at Roxy’s funeral, designing and developing the Wellbeing memorial garden and the annual Roxy Oldfield Green award. All this will keep Roxy’s memory alive in the school which is very much appreciated.Thank you.
Mr Hadley epitomises the ethos of Castle Hill and we are extremely proud of his achievements and contribution to our school.
A Huge Thank You!
After a suspenseful delay, I am delighted to announce that due to your support and the significant efforts of the staff we raised £580.46 at the recent circus event. This money goes straight into our school fund to ensure we can continue to offer fantastic rewards and an enhanced and exciting curriculum across the school.
