Castle Hill Blog 17/11/23
As I drove into School this morning a Christmas song came on the radio and I felt a flutter of excitement for all the incredible things that happen here at Castle Hill to celebrate the build up!
Christmas Designs
Our pupils were delighted to see their designs in print, aren't they magnificent?
Spotlight on Sixth Form
Laney Clayton Y13 student works on Friday afternoons at Bell Hair in Offerton.
Here is a photo of her work! 'Hair styled by Laney!' Well done Laney keep up the good work- and when can you fit me in please?
William Marsland has completed a 3K run for Children in Need for the past few years. He has currently raised £151 this figure will increase with the last few people that pledged to sponsor him. Well done William, we are all very proud of your fundraising efforts!
Our new Post 18 provision in the Sixth Form is now up and running with 11 students who are developing their work skills in readiness for future employment. Our Pre-Interns spend 2 and a half days a week in work placemats both in school and out in the wider community.
Matt Fleury, is one of the students benefitting from our new Post 18 Pre-Internship provision. Here is Matt working hard at The Holiday Inn in Stockport Town Centre where he is on the early morning breakfast shift! Matt really enjoys the placement and is getting excellent reports from his supervisors and managers. Well done Matt- keep up the hard work!
A Sixth Form student , Saad Bhatti does work experience at Offerton Co-Op Food Store...He works on Mondays and really enjoys the placement.
The manager of the store has been really impressed with Saad's attitude towards work and, with her support, we have been awarded £150 for our school.
The money is going to be spent on improving the Sixth Form garden area and making it more of a sensory experience for our students and staff!
Thank you so much to Joanne, the manager and Co-Op Food, and well done Saad, keep up the good work!
Celebration of Participation
On Saturday 11 November, five teams from around the country came
together to compete in a basketball tournament at the National Basketball Centre in Manchester. One of our Year 10 students, Will, played
for the North West team. Despite not winning any matches, they still had
a great time and enjoyed meeting up again with the other teams. Here's
a photo of Will in the team kit. Well done Will!
