Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 15/5/2026

Welcome to another weekend, with only one week to go until half-term it's safe to say that it's been a very busy but wonderful time here at Castle Hill! This morning's assembly on the theme of careers revealed some fascinating truths about some of our staff members' previous jobs...we have a barber assistant, an ice-cream person and a former footballer amongst us. A lesson to everyone that life is a journey and we collect skills on the way! Earlier today, I had the pleasure of seeing Miss Hill's class chefing in action, they were making a delectable oriental noodle salad which I'm sure some of you will feast on and enjoy for supper later.

The Power of Speech

9H had a very lively speech and language lesson in English today, practicing reasoning skills, debating and teamwork.

Groups had to discuss and prioritise which items they would need to survive on the streets if they were homeless. The task tied in with their study of 'Stone Cold', the story of a homeless teenager.

The Year 11 Communication Skills class have been working hard on their devised Insane Asylum drama piece. Throughout the project, pupils have collaborated closely, combining their ideas and creativity to bring this unusual and unsettling performance to life. Their commitment and teamwork has been wonderful to see and has resulted in a play that is both weird and chilling!

Community Event:

In Need of Support?

And Finally...

We're very excited to have Happy's Circus here at CHHS next Thursday. I hope you have your tickets at the ready! If not, there's still time to buy them. Arrive from 4.30pm to buy food (pizza and hot dogs), drinks and sweet treats. Enjoy various stalls including a raffle, face painting and outdoor games.  Please bring cash where possible for stalls.  The circus begins promptly at 6pm. The circus promises to be a fantastic experience. It is a loud performance, so please bring ear defenders, if needed. There will be some flashing spotlights and mist is used. Car parking spaces will be available at the front of CHHS, Fairway Primary and Lisburne Primary. Prams and pushchairs will have a designated spot outside the big top. We look forward to seeing you there!

Have a great weekend!
