Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 14/07/23

I cannot believe that I am a year into my role as headteacher at Castle Hill. The time has passed in a blur of activity with mostly a sparkle of joy and magic throughout. My assembly theme to celebrate our pupils' achievements this year was: Inspiration. I am inspired by the positivity of the pupils here at Castle Hill every day. Also, I'm sure you all agree that it is inspirational that so many of my staff gave up their free time to ensure that the summer fair was a success! I do hope those of you that came had fun.

Pure Innovations

We work with an organisation called Pure Innovations who provide travel training for our pupils and we can make referrals on your behalf. The confidence our pupils gain from learning to travel independently is amazing to see. The training is bespoke and tailored to each individual young person. If you'd like to find out more, please have a look at the website using the link below.

Sports Day!

Thank you to Mrs Jones for organising a fantastic array of sporting activities for pupils across the school to enjoy despite the incessant rain showers.

Website Creation

Archie T (9D) is a member of an autism community called Spectrum Gaming. They have collaborated with others to put together the website  http://autismunderstood.co.uk/
Archie is one of the named contributors on the website, along with lots of young people and adult professionals. It is a fantastic website for communicating what autism is. Well done Archie!

Let's Get Cooking!

Pupils cook a broad range of recipes in their food technology lessons and we would love our children to have the opportunity to share their cooking skills at home. Miss Glasson has now put a range of recipes onto our school website (link below) so you can support your child at home with cooking - if you make anything good, please send us a picture!
