Covid self-isolation
From Monday 17th January, people who test positive will be able to leave self-isolate after five full days, as long as they've had two negative lateral flow test results 24 hours apart and they don't have a temperature.
The day symptoms begin or you test positive is day zero. The next day is day one of your isolation period.
You can take your first test on day five. If it is negative, you can take another test 24 hours later on day six. Assuming this is also negative - and you do not have a temperature - you can immediately leave isolation.
The graphic below shows this more clearly:
If your child develops Covid symptoms and you're not sure what to do then keep them at home and phone school.
Preparing for life after Castle Hill
Ben Drogie, who left our sixth form last year, visited school this week to deliver a workshop to our current sixth form students. Ben is currently following a Level 1, Health & Social Care course at Stockport College and talked to our students about the transition from Castle Hill to college and what to expect from college.
On a similar theme, in preparation for working life, all of our Year 12 and Year 13 students take part in weekly work placements. Caitlin, one of our Year 12 students has a placement at a hairdressers and we heard this week that she's doing so well that the employer has offered her a paid Saturday job and may be able to give her an apprenticeship in the future. Well done Caitlin - a real Castle Hill success story!
Have a great weekend!
