Castle Hill Blog 13/02/26
This week's assembly theme has been Artificial Intelligence. We explored some fascinating discussions about how we use AI, the benefits it can bring, and the importance of staying safe and responsible. One surprising fact I learned is that AI isn’t “free” to use in an environmental sense — asking it complex questions can require significant computing power, which in turn uses large amounts of water for cooling. It’s a reminder that we should think carefully about when we use AI and avoid wasting resources unnecessarily, as this can have a harmful impact on the environment. As the saying goes...no matter how old you are, every day is a school day!
Exciting Exploration
On Monday, all of the pupils from the Hub went for an active day out at Seashell as part of their 'Life at School' topic. Pupils have spent this half term writing about life at Castle Hill, and then went on to explore and write about what it is like to visit another school. Everyone really enjoyed the inclusive cycling, sports activities and getting to see what it is like at another school.

An Investigation into Manchester’s History and Identity
Look at this thorough and interesting research homework, well done Josh!

Your Old Console Could Make a Pupil’s Day!
One of the rewards we offer is video gaming for close to 40 pupils. We have invested a lot of money as a school to enable this and thanks to some kind donations we now have a wide range of games consoles spanning numerous generations; it's an ever expanding collection!
With this in mind, if anyone has any old or spare gaming equipment that they no longer want or need, we would be very grateful if you would like to donate it to our collection so we can continue to expand this reward and weekly club.
We have Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox consoles from all generations and we would benefit from donations of games, controllers or even more consoles if possible! As always thank you for your support.
Cupcakes Galore!
One of the end of term rewards that pupils can earn is to make and decorate a bundle of delicious cupcakes. As you can see Jake has done a fabulous job of creating cupcake magic. I'm sure these would have been a splendid accompaniment to a nice soothing cup of tea.
