Castle Hill Blog 11/04/25
What a glorious week it has been! We all thoroughly enjoyed our whole school welly walk yesterday and the pupils have had a brilliant time on their rewards activities today.
Exceptional Work
Many of our Year 11s are working hard to prepare for their final exams. I'm sure you will be as impressed as I was reading this work!
Max Clough
Benji Stewart
The Hungry Caterpillar
This timeless classic is one of my favourite stories which can be enjoyed by all. It is clear that Bobs in Hub M agrees, look at this fantastic piece of recall writing he completed with beautiful drawings too!
Brilliant Braille
The pupils have been studying graphics in design technology. As part of this we have been looking at lettering styles and where we may see different styles of lettering in our everyday lives. Some of the pupils at Castle Hill have vision impairments so we have included braille in our exploration. Poppy in 9M was the star of the show when she was explaining what braille is, who uses it and why. Everyone felt and read some braille and then made textured versions of their initials in both letters and braille. Here are just a few:
Easter Eggstraviganza!
Year 9 pupils received a very warm welcome from Daniel (the vicar), Kate (the youth leader) and several volunteers when they visited All Saints Church in Marple this week. The pupils learned about key features in the church such as the font, communion table and stained glass windows. They explored stories about The Good Shepherd, The Good Samaritan and even re-enacted Palm Sunday scenes. Pupils were able to reflect upon Christian practices and their own life journeys.
Hub E had a brilliant time exploring the Hub forest school for Easter Eggs!
Miss Smolka's Caring for Children class were completely enraptured in Easter craft!
