Hello and welcome to another shiny new term and year here at Castle Hill. I hope that you all had a restful Christmas. This week's assembly was based on the new year and some of the typical traditions in the UK including making new year's resolutions. My favourite comments from pupils were:
“I am going to try and remember to brush my teeth,”
“I am going to try and be a better friend,”
“I am going to try and concentrate more in lessons.”
Being Thankful
One of the assembly themes at the end of last term was being thankful, pupils had the opportunity to participate in a competition to give their reasons for being thankful and the best responses would win a fantastic prize. Mr Wightman found the judging process extremely difficult with over 60 entries but here are the winning responses:
"I am thankful for my dad because he has just had a baby, he lost 2 babies but now I am a big brother".
""I am thankful for the life I have been given because it may not be amazing but I can still relate to people and I'm thankful for all the things I have".
"I am thankful for my dad for making tea and pudding. He plays FIFA and takes me to football".
Reading these comments made me feel thankful for the privilege I have to work with these pupils every day!
