Parent Governor Election
Following our election, I'm pleased to announce that Angela Bevan and Bora Oktas have been elected parent governors. Many thanks to David Jones and Paula Fletcher, whose terms of office have just finished, for their hard work and commitment on behalf of Castle Hill over the past 4 years.
Vaccinations
The School Nurse Team came into school this morning, to carry out student Covid vaccinations. The students who were vaccinated coped with this amazingly and everyone was fully jabbed in a couple of hours with no fuss!
Curriculum Spotlight - Science
Our Year 11 Entry Level Science students have been carrying out a piece of assessed coursework this week. They investigated the energy content of normal crisps compared with low fat crisps. They did this by lighting a crisp and using it to heat a set volume of water for one minute. The crisp that gave the biggest temperature rise had the most energy! As well as developing their practical skills, students wrote a full report which included a results table, a graph and a conclusion.
Goodbye Mrs Richardson!
We're incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to one of our longest serving members of staff today. Mrs Richardson has been working in our office for 25 years and many of you will have spoken to her on the phone, or been welcomed by her when you've visited school. She's decided to take a well earned EARLY retirement and we're very jealous of her plans. All the students and staff wish her a very long, healthy and happy retirement.
Have a brilliant weekend!
