Castle Hill Blog 07/07/23

Welcome to a bumper edition of the blog! I apologise that I did not share our news with you last week, however we were a little busy preparing to welcome our colleagues from Ofsted into school. I am pleased to inform you that the inspection went well and your should be very proud of your children and our school. I will look forward to sharing with you the official report and grading early in the Autumn term.

Year 11 Celebrations!

I was delighted to welcome so many of the Year 11 parents and carers to our leavers' celebration assembly. It was beautiful to hear in their own words (the pupils') their memories and ambitions for the future. There was also not a dry eye in the house when the video from Hayley Brown's nurture group was shared on the big screen! I was immensely proud of all of our Year 11s and my dedicated and caring staff who had nurtured them to success.

The following pupils won awards for exceptional achievement and effort:

Noah Sanders

Jack Wilks

Following on from this, was the sparkliest event of the Year-Prom! It was magnificent to see our pupils wearing their finest clothes as well as enjoying dancing and chatting with their friends and staff. A massive thank you must go out to Rhian Wheeler who organised it alongside some of our other fabulous KS4 staff.

Wellbeing Award for Schools!

I am immensely proud to announce that after an entire year of hard work from the wellbeing change team and pupils we have got the recognition our School deserves.

Congratulations on achieving the WAS award, it is impressive what the school has achieved! (Jill Tordoff external assessor)

It has been noted by visitors and assessors that the depth of support our pupils and staff receive is commendable and undoubtedly leads to our school community feeling safe, supported and happy.

Going for Gold!

We are unbelievably proud of Milena Oktas who has recently returned from competing in the Special Olympics representing the GB cycling team in Berlin! As you can see she was laden down with medals. What a superb experience and achievement. Well done Milena!
