Year 10 residential

About 40 of our Year 10 students are off to Lakeside activity centre in the Lake District, for three days, next week. Mr Drogie will be on Twitter duty, posting regular tweets showing what students have been getting up to. Follow us @CastleHillHigh to find out what's going on. 

Teaching Assistants

We have a superb team of teaching assistants at Castle Hill, who support students in a multitude of ways. In recognition of our commitment to maximising the impact that teaching assistant have, we've held the 'Best Practice with Teaching Assistants Award' since July 2018. This is now coming up for re-accreditation and an assessor will be visiting school in a couple of weeks' time. If, as a parent, you'd like to make any comment about the impact a specific teaching assistant has had on your child, then please email Mrs Agnew, who is coordinating this initiative, laura.agnew@castlehill.stockport.sch.uk.

Teaching & Learning

As part of our ongoing quality control, our leadership team carried out a thorough learning audit of school this week, dropping into lessons to check out  teaching and learning. I'm delighted to report that this was an incredibly positive experience and we were blown away by students' engagement in lessons and the progress they are making. 

One of our corridor displays graphically shows progress, by comparing pieces of English work produced by current Year 11 students, with work they completed when in Year 7, as shown below (Year 7 work on the left):
