Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 04/09/2026

A warm welcome back to all of our wonderful school community. I am absolutely delighted to see everyone in such a positive frame of mind! My assembly this week has been on the theme of superheroes. This identified that our three greatest superpowers aren't magical, they are: being kind, not giving up and asking for help when we need it. I am proud of all of our pupils this week but a special mention goes to our new Year 7s; it takes great courage to start a new school.

Summer Games Success! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the amazing achievements of three of our pupils: Bradley, Luke, and Daniel; they competed at the Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games in Birmingham.
Competing alongside 1,200 participants, our athletes truly shone on the national stage; they even earned a shout-out on Stockport Radio and a feature on BBC Midlands News.
Back in the classroom, Bradley started his "What did you do over the summer?" lesson by sharing his experiences and photos with class 8W. The pupils were completely engaged as he brilliantly explained the differences between the various Olympic Games.
Here are the fantastic results from the competition:
  • Bradley: 1st place in the 100m semi finals, 4th place in the softball throw semi finals, and 6th place in the finals for both events.
  • Luke: Gold medal in the long jump and 7th place in the 100m semi final.
  • Luke and Bradley: Bronze medal in the team relay final.
  • Daniel: Silver medal in the 100m heat, and 6th place in both the relay and standing long jump.
Huge congratulations to Bradley, Luke, and Daniel for representing our school and community so wonderfully!

Summer Wildlife Wonders in Forest School

This summer, our wildlife camera picked up some fantastic visitors exploring our forest school. Foxes and badgers have been quietly moving through the woodland, investigating the spaces where pupils learn and play. It’s been a lovely reminder that our forest school sits right in the heart of a thriving ecosystem, shared with the creatures who call it home.

Simba has achieved something brilliant! Our calm, reassuring school super-dog, known for supporting pupils with anxiety, has officially passed his Good Citizen Dog Training Bronze Award. Assessed by a Kennel Club examiner, this recognised qualification shows just how well Simba has mastered his training and why he’s such a steady presence for our pupils.

We’re incredibly proud of him and excited to see his new skills continue to support our school community.
