Castle Hill Blog 03/05/24
This week we have laid out the welcome mat for our parents and carers of the new Year 7 pupils who will be joining us in September. After a grand tour they were able to enjoy the standard magical hospitality service provided by our pupils and students!
Caring for Animals
Scientific research suggests that caring for animals can provide immense support for our mental health:
- providing companionship
- reducing anxiety
- boosting self-confidence
- helping to meet new people
- adding structure to the day.
Here is one of our lovely Year 7 pupils benefitting from a calm start to the day. Leo is ensuring that our guinea-pigs have everything that they need. Thank you Leo!
The Brilliant BFG
8S are learning about the BFG in English, they have tasted Frobscottle and made their own dream jars thinking about their dreams for the future.
Wonderful Work Experience
Our amazing careers lead, Rhian Wheeler, works tirelessly throughout the year to provide our young people with education, guidance and experience to give them the very best opportunities for developing the skills and knowledge that they will need to be successful in the future. Last week the majority of our Year 11s were on work placements.
Leah Cairns-Shop Assistant, The Good Life, Stockport
Harry Burke-Garage Assistant, Lookers Renault
Joe Murphy and Finlay Jolly really wowed their employer...
"I would like to put on record how impressed we were with these two young men they were an absolute credit to their families, Castle Hill and most importantly themselves. They were punctual and well presented at all times, they conducted themselves well in a variety of situations and with different staff. They are both welcome back anytime and we all wish them all the best in their future endeavours."

And Finally...
One of our year 13 students, has bagged herself a full time, paid job, at Bask Lounge Bar in Stockport when she finishes college in June. This has been her work placement since the start of year 13. She has worked so hard they just couldn’t let her go. This is a brilliant achievement!
