Satchel App
Your child should have brought home a letter this week giving details of the Satchel app, which you can use to keep track of your child's homework. The app can be downloaded to your phone or tablet and is easy to set up, using the log-in details included in the letter.
Free online course
We've been asked to share with you details of a course that looks at how the COVID pandemic may have affected your child. The course starts by thinking about your own experience of the pandemic and then your child's experience and how it may have affected them.
World Book Day 2023
Both our librarian and our English co-ordinator have been on the Year 11 London residential this week, so we decided to postpone our World Book Day celebrations to next Thursday - 9th March.
All pupils will receive a book voucher and the video below outlines how this scheme works.
Everybody is encouraged to dress as their favourite character from a book and join in the fun on the day.
London calling!
As I write this, our Year 11 pupils will be on the train back from London after an action-packed three day residential experience. They took in the London Eye, a river cruise, the London Dungeon, two theatre shows and tea with King Charles (one of those may be a slight exaggeration!!!).
Many thanks to the pupils involved for their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour; to parents and carers for encouraging your child to take part in the residential and trusting us to look after them and to the staff team involved in running this event. Planning a trip such as this is a mammoth task and staff then have to leave their own families for three days and survive on two hours sleep a night! The fact that this is the first of a series of residentials we're offering this year, highlights the amazing commitment of the staff team we have at Castle Hill.
