Farewell Mr Ruddick!

We're extremely sorry to be saying goodbye to Mr Ruddick today. He joined us when we moved to our Offerton site, 7 years ago, and has been responsible for setting up and leading our ASC provision within the Hub and across school. Mr Ruddick has had a massive impact upon the education and welfare of countless students and I know that his efforts are massively appreciated by parents and carers. He was also the driving force behind Castle Hill gaining accreditation from the National Autistic Society.

Mr Ruddick is taking up the post of deputy headteacher at Heaton School and we wish him all the very best of luck.

What's it worth not to send the following photo to your new boss, Mr Ruddick? (Taken on the Year 8 trip to Treetop Nets this week).

Changes to Covid guidance

From today, the DfE advice on Covid and isolation is that children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to school when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend. This has removed the requirement for home testing and waiting for a negative test result before returning to school. However, we still have quite a few test kits in school and are happy to pass these on to parents and carers. There will be a supply in the school reception or you can contact your child's form teacher.

Year 7 on tour

Year 7 students and staff had a terrific time on their 3 days at Kingswood Activity Centre. For many of the students this was their first time staying away from home overnight, so an extra special well done to them! Check out school's Twitter account, @CastleHIllHigh, for photos and videos, but here's a group shot.

Happy Easter!

We'd like to wish all of you a happy, healthy and restful break. School opens for the summer term on Wednesday 20th April 2022.
